This is a continuation and follow-up to a study I am doing on auto-surfs.

 In particular, I am trying to find the ones that really deliver hits comparable to the amount you surf. There are many that seem on the surface to run well and your credits add up, but if you check with a tracker you will find that you are not really receiving very many hits a day.

 I will not mention any on this blog that don’t run consistently. I do not want to waste your time as I already have trying to get certain programs to run for more that 3 minutes without pop-ups stopping them.

 There are two I am really excited about right now.

iSpeedSurf.com and FastCreeper.com

They are both very similar. You can choose either 7 seconds or 17 second auto-surf or manual 6 second surf on Fastcreeper, or 12 or 25 second auto-surf on iSpeed. They both give you 3000 credits for signing up and iSpeedSurf also gives you 25000 banners and text ads. FastCreeper has a little bit better ration on the free account. Their ration is 1:1 while iSpeedSurf is 1:8.

Both these sites will run fairly well with a stall-out now and then. A click on the refresh button usually will get them going again. Rarely does the site break out of frames. Neither has a surf URL which will load automatically and you must login. This would be one of my complaints, but your can’t have it all!

Overall they are giving me a consistant amount of traffic to my site with little effort on my part. That’s what we want!

This is my first post on auto -surf sites. I have not till recently been using them very much and it took me some time to find a few that are worth the time.

I will be posting for the next few days on some of the auto-surfs that I have found to be useful. Auto- Surfs are abundant out there and they are not all created equal. Many surf well but don’t deliver hits, while others deliver what you get but don’t run efficiently and are constantly shutting down. I have yet to find one that does not eventually crop up with a pop-up or frame-breaker now and then, but I have used and whittled down the list to a few that really can give you a good amount of hits for the trouble.

ShalomAutoHits is the first one I will cover. This site runs quite well, and surprisingly you will see hits to your site almost immediately. Take note that all the sites I will discuss are free to use. You may upgrade but I am only giving you the FREE aspect of what they can do for you. Upgrading will give you even better ratio’s of surfing and more sites you can rotate.

This is a very simple site and has been running for five years. They use a 30 second timer and it runs well with an occasional pop-up that stops the timer. Usually the site itself is not lost entirely like some frame-breakers and pop-ups do to other sites. It is fixed easily by canceling the pop-up and the surf timer continues.

Auto-surfs are best used to gain credits in manual surf accounts and to help boost your Alexa rating for your site. Occasionally a sign up for a free item might occur, and I have also added people to my list this way. This is potential for future sales. Make sure that quick eye catching splash pages are used for your auto-surf sites. I use Shalomautohits to gain PV at Traffic Era. It works great for me and gives me about 700 PV a week just by running this auto-surf. Traffic Era is one of my favorite manual exchanges. Search my web post for more info on this site.

Use a tracker so you can see the amount of hits you are getting per day. HitsConnect is inexpensive and works great! ShalomAutoHits has stats for your site but they are accumulative  and sometimes hard to know each day what you are receiving.

I want to discuss link building and why as ardous a chore as it is you must do it.

Backlinks, most importantly one -way links coming from high PR sites are a must. They will help boost your page rank probably faster than anything else except lots of good content. Links are not all created equal and reciprocal links are not as good as one-way links. They are however the easiest to get in numbers without spending alot of money.

 Links Builder and Link Metro are two I have used to get reciprocal links.

Link Metro also has an upgraded membership with a script you can put on your site to make the link building easier and quicker. They gladly will install this script for you if you are not comfortable doing it. Once the script is installed it is simply a matter of clicking and accepting the link reuests. Easy!

 Link Connector is a bit different in the fact that you will get backlinks for all the links you put on your site. Link Metro has an option that the site you would like to link to can reject your invitation. Sometimes this means you will put a bit of effort into building your links and only get a few that accept you invitation. With link connector they guarantee at least one return link for all that you put on your site. If you have a good PR many times you will get more than one link back.

Article submission is probably the best way to get one-way links as you can imbed your link into the article. The article if it has good info will get picked up and posted on other sites. This will get you links from these sites as well as many good article sites have a good PR themselves.

You can also purchase one-way links with advertising. Text links, banners, etc. are essentially one-way links. Make sure the keywords you are linking with fit the page that these links point to.

 Reciprocal links are the easiest to get, but again not all link building sites are the same. Getting reciprocal links from sites with no PR rank probably does very little to nothing for you, but remember that page ranking takes a while to build takes and those links to unranked sites  can eventually start paying off.

Set yourself up on a link building plan. Submit an article or two a week and at least one day a week work on getting 10-15 links with one of the reciprocal link sites. This could easily become 300 links a month, 3600 in a year.

 There is a new rage beginning in traffic and blog advertising. It is the exchange of 125×125 banners. I am using a couple of these now to try them out and see what I think. They are set up in most situations to be most useful on blogs. Entrecard is the one I will cover in this post  You will sign up with them FREE,  enter some code on your blog, and a picture box will appear. This box has a rotator on it, and people will sign up to be advertise on your blog. You do get to accept or decline anyones advertisement so it is not like many exchanges where what comes -comes. You can also get credits by visiting other peoples blogs and clicking on the “drop” link under the advertisement. I have really seen some cool blogs this way. All you need is to get a 125×125 banner for your blog or make one and Entrecard will do the rest.

Check mine out on the sidebar. It is right above the “truth links” bar. This is how it will look. This gets traffic to your site in itself just by visitors checking out your site.

 The next way to advertise is to choose another persons blog in a common area of interest. This will give you targeted customers from your advertisement. Different blogs require different amounts of credits to be on them. There are 6500 blogs in there system with credits ranging from 8 to 500 needed to advertise. Once you choose the blog you want to advertise on your add will run 24 hours. Your 125×125 add will run uninterrupted by anyone elses during this time.

It is really quite easy to build up credits, and I have not been putting an extreme amount of effort into it. You will get an email when someone wants to advertise. From the email you can check out their blog and see if you like it. Then just go back to your email click on the Entrecard link, dign in and accept. You get credtis this way also. Always make sure that you click the “drop” link of their entrecard add while you are visiting thier blog. This will give you credits. They add up quite nicely.

If your blog is well monetized, and you make sales from visits this could really be nice for you. It gets traffic up and people are likely to bookmark your site and come back if they like it. I think it is worth the effort and an add on a high traffic blog in your related field could mean some good revenue.

I thought I was going to do something great! I had a header made with flash graphics and then ……Oh Boy, I had a devil of a time getting it to work on my site.

I scoured the internet for HTML code and different tactics to getting it where I wanted it. There are many sites out there with the wrong code on them. You go and try it and then you think that it must be you, and you did something wrong. Well it is the code itself. When I finally found the correct code. Snap it was up and working in seconds!

 Let me share this with you and tuck this away in a file that you can find when needed. It is really quite simple.

First load your .swf file onto your site with your file manager. Make note what you have named it. You can also get this to work if the file is somewhere else which I will explain in a moment.

 Now it is very simple. Highlighted you will see the size of the graphic and you can adjust this as you like within the code. Enter your file name where it says MyFlash Movie.sfw. If it is in the root folder of your site just put NAME.sfw. If it is hosted somewhere else than enter the entire URL to the grahic. You will enter http://www.mysite.com/mymovie.sfw. “My site” will be your domain name and “my move” of course the sfw file name.

Now with this code you can put your graphics anywhere you would like. You can put it at the top as a header or in the middle or at the end as a footer. This will insert the graphic right into the page just like a regular image.

Your graphic will not show if you are using Frontpage, Dreamweaver, or NVU so do not worry. Where the graphic is will just be a grey box. Close your file and name it and upload it to your site. Now check it and you can see how it looks.

I found it easiest to load  right into the HTML code of the page I wanted it on within my hosting site. Just click on file manager. Click on the file you want it in and than click on edit. In Yahoo the HTML code will show and you can insert it where you would like and than view to see if size and position are good. With Godaddy the edit button views the page first and then you then have to click on HTML and insert it. Then go back to regular view to see it. There are many hosting services but basically they should work like one of these two.

 So don’t be scared. Get creative and insert some cool flash graphics to spice up your site. Don’t go overboard though. Too busy is not good and can be too distracting. Just enough to catch attention and lead the prospective customer to what you want them to do.
